D1Baseball Social Media Viceroy Job Description
Position Overview:
D1Baseball.com is seeking passionate, creative and detail-oriented college students (or recent graduates) to join our team as Social Media Viceroys (interns). In this role, you will manage conference-specific social media accounts for Twitter/X and Instagram, focusing on delivering engaging and informative content to enhance the D1Baseball brand. There will be one Viceroy assigned to each of the following conferences:
- SEC
- ACC
- Big 12
- Mid-Majors
This is an exciting opportunity to work remotely while gaining hands-on experience in sports media and social media management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Social Media Management: Operate and grow Twitter/X and Instagram accounts for your assigned conference(s), maintaining a unique voice that aligns with D1Baseball’s brand identity.
- Content Creation & Curation: Produce and curate content – including game highlights, daily scores, schedules, and engaging posts like pick’ems and polls – to build an interactive and informative social media presence.
- Game Coverage: Provide live updates, tweet game highlights, and interact with followers during games to foster real-time engagement.
- Community Interaction: Engage with team accounts, followers, and fans to build a sense of community and promote collaboration with conference-specific and team-associated accounts.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track account growth, engagement, and web traffic using analytics tools. Attach tracking UTM parameters to all posted links and report performance weekly.
- Collaborations & Permissions: Work with teams to obtain necessary permissions for content sharing and use templated communication to ensure compliance with content usage guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Current college student or recent graduate [extremely] passionate about college baseball.
- At least one year of experience in social media management, marketing, communications, journalism, and/or content creation.
- Robust college baseball knowledge and familiarity with team-specific dynamics within the assigned conference.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in social media platforms (Twitter/X, Instagram) and analytics tools.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and produce high-quality, creative content under deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with tools like Canva or Adobe.
- Short-form video editing with tools like CapCut, Edits, or Canva.
- Strong understanding of audience engagement strategies and best practices for X and Instagram.
Compensation:
- Monthly stipend for the duration of the season (January 15th - June 15th).
- Access to premium tools and platforms necessary for content creation and management.
Work Environment:
- This is a fully remote position, providing flexibility to work from anywhere. Preference will be given to students still on campus at a school in your requested conference.
- Weekly evaluations and coaching sessions to ensure growth and alignment with program goals.
- Work schedule will vary, nights and weekends WILL be required.
